Sekondi Hasaacas new signing, Eric Bekoe, who was part of 14 new players unveiled by the Sekondi based club yesterday, has expressed his surprise at the joy and love shown him by the local populace.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko recently returned home after years of fruitless exploits abroad and signed initially with Berekum Chelsea for two seasons but was released and his previous exploits in the Ghana premier league convinced the harbour city club to acquire his services.

The 29-year-old striker revealed in an interview with sportscrusader.com how surprised he was at how easily the fans have embraced his move and this has made him feel more at home than he anticipated.

He said, “I am amazed as to how the people of the region have received me so far, and I promise them more goals in the upcoming season”.

The former ‘goal king’ of the premier league also admitted his new team-mates have shown tremendous solidarity both on and off the training grounds.

He added, “the support he has received from the management team of Sekondi Hasaacas with regards to his new environment has eased him smoothly into adapting to the new environment”.
