Hasaacas Hold Goldfields

Obuasi (Ashanti Region), 19 Jan.,

Visiting Sekondi Hasaacas played their Hearts out to hold Obuasi Goldfields to a Goalless drawn game in their match played at the len clay stadium. After an exciting first half in which both terms wasted three corner-kicks each, it was the visitors who improved their game but could not translate their brilliant performance into goals. Goldfields, who had earlier replaced Kwabena Boateng with Frank Turkson in the first half, substituted Turkson and Isaac Quainoo with Ibrahima Kone and Tanko Musah. The changes improved their game but poor finishing denied them the goals. Hasmal redoubled their attack and gained the Upper hand but they failed to score, especially in the 84th minute when Issah Mohammed, in a good scoring position, drove the ball over the bar. In the dying minutes, Hasmal were reduced to ten men as referee P.S. Okai red-carded central defender Kwabena Boafo for dissent after showing him the yellow card. At Sekondi Syandu park, Western show boys, Sekondi Eleven Wise scored an impressive 2-0 win over visiting Tema Afienya United.
