The head coach of Ghana's Black Starlets, Laryea Kingston, has opened up about how coaching the team is helping him grow.

According to him, being in charge of the U17 national team has provided him with valuable experience.

"We had our first loss against Russia since the technical team took over, our first loss in so many games. For us, it was very shocking, and for the boys as well, but for me, I think our next game against Serbia showed that they learned from their mistakes and they came out playing very well," he said.

"We encountered a different style of play in the first edition that we featured in Serbia. It was more of Western Europeans participating, and this time around, it was more of Eastern Europeans.

"So, for me, it was a very good experience as a coach to understand every part of the world, the way they play, and the mindset of the coaches," Laryea Kingston said in an interview with the Ghana FA media team.

The coach was speaking ahead of the commencement of the WAFU Zone B U17 Cup of Nations.

The tournament will kick off in Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday, May 15. Coach Laryea Kingston is keen on guiding the Black Starlets to win the tournament.
