Gyan's Suspension to be appealed

Gyan was ruled out of the next game against the USA after he received a yellow card in the game against the Czech Republic.

The Modena striker was cautioned after he took a penalty without instructions from the referee.

He explained after the game that he heard a whistle which made him take the penalty.

It has come out that the whistle he heard was not from the referee but from the crowd.

GFA Communications Director Randy Abbey told myghanafootball that the Management Committee of the FA are studying the situation carefully and would appeal.

He said they are of the view that the player took the spot kick based on what he heard and therefore should not be punished.

?We are yet to appeal, the GFA is studying the situation and then we will appeal. ?We are not saying that the referee erred in showing the yellow card, all we are asking is for the FIFA Committee to consider overturning the decision?, he said.

The appeal is expected to land at the corridors of FIFA by Tuesday and Mr. Abbey believes they can make a good case for a review.

?We cannot tell whether our chances are good or not. ?We are not also confident we will succeed, all we are saying is that FIFA should try and reason with us?, he added.

Both Gyan and Sulley Muntari, barring any last minute hitches will miss Ghana?s last game against the USA on Thursday in Nuremburg.

Ghana is third in Group E with 3 points behind the Czech Republic and Italy.
