Gyan passed fit to play against Egypt

Black Stars team doctor, Baba Adam, has passed team captain Asamoah Gyan fit to play against Egypt in the World Cup qualifying first leg match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi next week.

The team doctor later told footy-ghana.com that Gyan was assessed at the 37 Military Hospital after failing to train on Tuesday, adding that Gyan’s ability to train on Wednesday means that the worst is over for now.

He added: “Yes, we saw him train today. He couldn’t do that yesterday and it was all because he had some pains in his thigh. I am glad he has recovered.

“He was taken to the 37 Military Hospital yesterday and he was told to relax. As of now, he is fit. I monitored his movement and he also told me that he doesn’t feel any pain any more. It has been very difficult. You know the problem sometimes is their travelling and all that so for now let’s hope nothing happens before the game against Egypt.”
