Gyan doubtful for Ghana double-header

Footy-ghana.com can confirm that Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is facing a battle against time to be fit for Ghana’s 2015 African Nations Cup qualifying double header against Uganda and Togo next month.

Gyan sustained an injury recently whilst playing for his club Al Ain and he was originally ruled out for nine weeks.

Footy-ghana.com understands that Serbian horse placenta expert Mariana Kovacevic has flown to the Emirates to treat Gyan, whom she had worked on before during the 2012 African Nations Cup tournament.

Footy-ghana.com understands that the treatment has gone very well, but stand-in coach Maxwell Konadu is wary of aggravating Gyan’s injury by bringing him back so soon.

Should Gyan miss out, it will be the first time he will be absent from playing in qualifiers since being appointed as team captain in 2013.
