Grusah urges fans to storm Egypt

...for World Cup qualifier

Outspoken Ghanaian football administrator Alhaji Grusah is urging Ghana fans to travel to Egypt for the second-leg tie of the 2014 World Cup qualifier.

The King Faisal bankroller has gone contrary to caution issued by Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, advising fans not to travel to the North African country due to the chaotic situation in the country.

Grusah insists Egyptians have no issues with Ghanaians and naturally will not attack any Ghanaian fan who travels to watch the game in Cairo.

“Their fans [Egyptians] travelled here who touched them? Nobody! Fans can go and support the team and there will be no issues. Ghanaians have not done anything bad to Egyptians. We don’t have an issue with them,” he told Accra-based Oman FM.

The Ghana Football Association wrote to FIFA to consider switching the match venue from Cairo due to the continuous demonstrations and violence in the country.

But the football’s world governing body replied Cairo is safe to host the game after assessing the security situation in the country.
