Greater Accra Region representatives at the upcoming Sprite Ball Championship dominate Group A of the female division following the draw. The draw for the Championship was conducted in a live broadcast with Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong headlining the event.

Accra Wesley Girls High School and West Africa Senior High School have been fixed in the group alongside reigning Champions Wesley Girls High School, Ahantaman Girls Senior High School and T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School.

Ahantaman, T.I. Ahmadiyya represents the Western and Ashanti Regions respectively with Central Region rep Wesley Girls featuring in the group.

Both schools alongside St. Mary’s Senior High School are the host region’s representatives at next year’s Championship; the duo secured automatic qualification from the regional games.

St. Mary’s on the other hand, clinched the final spot in the female division after securing the most votes in a special poll for the highest placed teams at the regional level that missed out on qualification to Sprite Ball.

Next year’s Championship takes place from January 4-6, 2018 at the El Wak sports stadium
