Government to support Anagblah's funeral

Government has pledged to support the funeral of Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Jordan Anagblah.

This was revealed by Deputy Sports Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah on Wednesday when a delegation of the GFA and family members formally informed government of his death.

Government has appointed a representative to serve on the funeral committee set up by the family and the GFA to ensure a befitting burial for the football administrator.

Dr. Boamah said the departed GFA Executive Committee member was ‘frank and forthright in attitude’ and hailed his pivotal role in the development of youth football in the country.

The GFA revealed that it will fully fund the funeral and has set up a committee to ensure that proceeds from the funeral are invested for the upkeep of the children of Anagblah.

“The GFA is deeply involved and we pledge to support the upkeep of his children," GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

"We have put a committee in place to ensure that proceeds from the funeral will be invested in the upkeep of his children.”

Meanwhile, the one-week memorial will be held on Thursday, June 21 at his residence at Madina near Accra.

Anagblah passed away last Thursday, June 14 at the Trust Hospital, Accra after a short illness.
