Golden Arms call on Sports Ministry

The national Armwrestling team, Golden Arms on Wednesday, 6th July 2017 paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Sports, Isaac Asiamah.

The Golden Arms who chalked an impressive record of 22 medals at the just ended Africa Armwrestling Championship were led by the federation president Charles Osei Assibey who expressed his appreciation to the Ministry for the help they offered the team whiles preparing for the championship.

The Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah whiles congratulating the victorious team remarked that he was unsurprised by their output because he knew the team under the former Happy FM Sports editor was destined for success

Isaac Asiamah commended the team for defying the numerous obstacles that came their way to make Ghana proud at their maiden AFC tournament.

According to him the federation's decision to develop the game at the grassroots rather than being fixated with travelling outside for tournament's makes them an exemplary body to other federations.

"On behalf of the President of Ghana, I wish to congratulate you for this great feat and I want you to know that we are proud of you. I have been monitoring your activities since I became the sports minister and I'm not surprised at your outstanding success. What I like about you (Armwrestling Federation) is your local content programming and once you focus on developing talents, success will be inevitable. You have done well and the support from the ministry will come very soon".

He also commended Charles Osei Assibey for his election as the Deputy General Secretary of the Africa Armwrestling Federation but was silent on a possible financial package for the victorious team????
