Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Defender, Godfred Yeboah popularly known as TV 3, has called on Ghanaian football fans to obey the rules governing football.

Speaking in an interview with Joe Ahmed on Storm FM’s Sports Marathon in Sunyani, the 37-year-old ex-footballer said it is time for soccer fans to eschew things that won’t bring peace.

“Football is not about fighting. The playing body does not see themselves as enemies so the supporters should understand the game. Let’s obey the rules/regulations governing football. Accept the results when you go to the stadium to watch your team because it is either your team loses, draws or win. It should not be a must win for your team to win when playing at home,” he advised.

“Even after the May 9 Disaster, a similar incident happened at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, this should tell you that we have not learned anything from what occurred in Accra,” Godfred Yeboah observed.

He added: “It is time for us to eschew certain things that won’t bring peace. If your team is not strong, accept that in good faith and do the right.”

Godfred Yeboah called on referees to demonstrate what they have learnt to enhance the beauty of the game.
