Global Campaign for the Less Privileged to be launched

Emperor Gaza International Foundation (EGIF) would launch the much anticipated Global Campaign for the Empowerment of the Disabled and Less privileged Through Sports and Other Activities at a ceremony at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra on October 31 this year.

According to the President of EGIF, Mr. Prince Charles, the campaign is aimed at creating avenues for the less-privileged and disabled to get some leverage in life in order to integrate into mainstream society for them to contribute their quota to development.

Mr. Sackeyfio stated that the campaign is one of the antidotes to the societal problem of neglect of that category of persons and to break the barriers of discrimination against them.

The campaign targets areas like Sports, Employment, Education, Health, Exchange Programmes, Infrastructural Development, among others, through advocacy, conferences, workshops, sporting activities, long and medium term projects.

He said the launch would start at 10:a.m and be followed by the special Fusion Games, which are special games that bring the disabled and able-bodied together on the same sports platform as a demonstration of how the two could work together to achieve common goals.

The Amputee Football Team, the Wheel Chair Basket team, among others, would fuse with their able-bodied counterparts to participate in some games. He is calling on corporate bodies and individuals to support the campaign.
