Give opportunity to local players - Abdul Razak tells Kwesi Appiah

Former Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Coach Karim Abdul Razak says newly appointed coach of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah has to work more with the local players and that will even serve as motivation to bring out the best in them.

The 1978 Africa Cup of nation’s winner lauded the appointment of Kwesi Appiah and added he should do a lot of monitoring of the local players from the Ghana Premier League.

The golden boy himself applied for the job which was eventually given to Kwesi Appiah but insists it’s about time the local game be give much credence.

“He has to monitor the local players, he should be here to see them and work with them. He can organize training sessions. For instance you can have a week training for them and in between they get friendly matches that will bring out good performance.’’ He said.

‘’By doing that, the team work will come and everything will come. That is what I believe will improve the Black Stars,” he told Metro TV.

Coach Kwesi Appiah is set to begin work from the 1st of May having sign a two year deal with the Ghana Football Association.
