Match Officials in a Division Two League encounter between Adeiso Utd vs. VRS Koforidua took to their heels after allowing a ‘dubious goal’ in the Eastern Regional Football Middle League.

Adeiso Utd who lost the game by 1-0 felt the goal scored by VRS Koforidua wasn’t legitimate but referees allowed the goal to stand thereby losing the match to the anger of the home fans.

Information gathered for Ghanacrusader.com indicates, supporters of Adeiso Utd assaulted the referees after an alleged bribery incident prior to the match.

Speaking to the Ghanacrusader.com, P.R.O of Adeiso Utd, Enock Agyari said: ” The referees took to their heels after supporters of the club begun to chase them after alleged bribery incident which the felt influenced the results of game, but I can’t determine the veracity of their claims but officiating was very bad,” he said.

This incident comes as no surprise as referees have dominated the headlines in recent times after their alleged numerous bribery incident that has led to their maltreatment and ridicule in the football fraternity.
