The Assistant Coach of the Black Stars, Maxwell Konadu, has stated that proper infrastructure has been a problem in the development of talents in the country.

He made this statement at the last tour of the Betway Talent Search held in Accra at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The tour is aimed at recruiting football talents from various parts of the country.

This year’s Betway Talent Search has recruited numerous talents from the Central Region, Ashanti region, Northern region, Brong Ahafo and the Greater Accra region of Ghana.

In an interview with Onua FM, Coach Konadu admitted that the event is a good initiative which will help discover talents for clubs both in and outside the country.

“I am not surprised about the quality of talents discovered so far in the talent search. We have many raw talents in the country. Our pride is seeing these products going higher. Ghanaian players very good.”

Those who excel will later be recruited after being tried and tested through a series of screening exercises by an experienced scouting team led by former Black Stars skipper and current technical coordinator of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah, Coach Michael Osei, Coach Eric Antwi of Lizzy Sports Complex, Godfred Adoube, Sam Johnson, Mohammed Gargo and Coach Maxwell Konadu.

The winners of this year’s Betway Talent Search will be drafted into the four Ghana Premier league clubs sponsored by Betway Ghana.
