Ghanaian named Kyrgyzstan Player of the Year 2009

BISHKEK: AFC President’s Cup runner-ups Dordoi-Dynamo won multiple honours for the season with Ghanaian defender Daniel Tagoe scooping the Kyrgyzstan Player of the Year award for 2009.

The 23-year-old African was the lynchpin for Dordoi in their league winning heroics as well as success on the continental stage. He is the first foreigner to win the award since 1992.

Dordoi’s Vadim Harchenko won the Best Midfielder award while his Russian teammate Maxim Kretov won the golden boot with his table-topping feat of 21 goals.

The Best Goalkeeper award went to Abdysh-Ata’s Maksim Agapov. Abdysh won the Kyrgyzstan Cup this season.

Also collecting gongs for Abdysh were Anton Zemlianuhin and Roman Ablakimov who were adjudged the Best Striker and Defender.

Other award winners included Women’s Player of the Year, which went to 14-year-old Alina Litvinenko, and Futsal Player Vadim Kondratkov.
