Zulte-Waregem maintained their fourth position thanks to two goals scored by Ibrahim Salou in their 3-1 defeat of Club Brugges. Salou takes his goal tally to eight this season.

Chelsea 2 - 0 Liverpool
Chelsea extended their lead at the top of The Premiership to a formidable 15 points after sealing a league double over Liverpool with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Essien played the full 90 minutes

GERMANY: Bundesliga 1

Ghana-born Kevin Boateng opened the scoring for Hertha Berlin in their 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. Compatriot Isaac Boakye was on target for Arminia Bielefeld but they ended up losing 2-1 away to Hamburg.

Hamburg had to come from behind to win at home as they conceded a 26th minute goal to Arminia Bielefeld's Isaac Boakye.

Werder Bremen 4 - 2 FSV Mainz
Werder had to come from two goals down at home to beat Mainz 4-2 and continue their pursuit of Bayern. Otto Addo played 90 minutes for FSV Mainz

Udinese were furious and Muntari protested by throwing his shirt at the referee.
