13.12.2007: The Ivory Coast football federation (FIF) on Thursday denied a squad announcement for next month's African Nations Cup which has been published by the international press. "Neither the FIF nor any top team officials have published a pre-squad contrary to what has appeared in the national and international press," the federation announced. The FIF said they would be announcing a 50-man pre-squad next week before an official 23-man final squad will be sent to the African Football Confederation by January 10 at the latest.
Newcastle striker, Obafemi Martins said he will not lose sleep over the African Cup of Nations; rather his priority is to leave the club on top position before he departs in January.
