Ghana to play Togo on June 7 in a friendly

Ghana will play neighbours Togo in an international friendly next month in preparation towards the start of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, can exclusively reveal.

The Black Stars will play the Hawks in Accra on 7 June as they prepare for the matches to be played in the qualifiers next month.

Ghana’s leading football website,, reveals that the Togolese Football Federation has confirmed the friendly from their base in Lome.

The Chairman of Standardization Committee, Antoine Folly has also announced the decision on Togo national television (TVT).

The Hawks, who played the Black Stars in the qualifiers to the last edition of the Nations Cup, want to use the exhibition match to test their readiness for the campaign.

Ghana coach Avram Grant also wants to give the chance to some players who are likely to be given the opportunity to impress to make the squad.

Togo begins their qualifiers in Group A against Liberia at home before engaging Djibouti and Tunisia to end the first round.
