Ghana to play Togo in a Skate Soccer friendly on September 2

As part of the build up to the Skate Soccer AFCON to be hosted next year in Ghana, the International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) in collaboration with Binatone Ghana are organizing a Skate Soccer friendly between Ghana (Rolling Rockets) and Togo at the Accra Sports Stadium, Tennis court on September 2, 2017.

Binatone the title sponsors had been sponsoring the sport for the past 2 years.

To grace the event the Sports minister, GFA President, CEO’s from other Companies and influential people in society had been invited.

As part of the preparations towards next year's continental competition, Mr Babu, the MD for Binatone Ghana announced that Rolling Rockets will also play against the likes of Nigeria, Niger, Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

"We are keen on sponsoring the skate soccer team to attain greater heights and especially as they look to compete in next year African championship, we felt they needed to engage in matches.

"This we believe will prepare them well for the competition and we are ready to sponsor them to engage in matches which will keep them in good shape ahead of next year," he said.

On his part, the president of the IFSS and coach of the Rolling Rockets, Albert Frimpong, expressed his gratitude to Binatone for their commitment to help promote the sport in the country.

According Mr. Venu the prize GH¢ 10,000 for the winning team during the AFCON as well consolidation prizes for the other teams. Spectators will not be left out of the prizes galore as 100 winners will be rewarded through a Raffle draw with items ranging from music fan, microwave etc.



According to Mr. Frimpong, after the AFCON the next stop is a World Cup. “This will materialize based on how successful the AFCON will be”.

The Managing Director of Binatone Ghana Venu Babu speaking at the press briefing explained why his Company continues to pledge support for the sport.

“As title sponsor, we are committed at least for the next ten years, we are committed to supporting the sports as much as we can.” He further stated how far and their ambitions for the sport in the next few years. This he stated is to touch the lives of the physically challenged in society. He further urged other corporate bodies as their corporate social responsibility to come on board to support the sport and to improve the livelihood the physically challenged.
