Ghana to host W/Africa football academicals

THE second edition of the West African School Sports Football Academicals fiesta will be hosted by Ghana later this year. Disclosing this to journalists during the week, the interim co-ordinator, West Africa Schools Sports Federation, Dr. Adeleke Olaiya, said a meeting of the body scheduled for next week in Ghana would ratify the date of the competition, adding that the Ghanaian government has expressed interest in staging the fiesta. "I think the body is ready to make schools sports in the region a formidable one, where nations can discover athletes that will represent them at international competitions," Olaiya said.

Schools from the sub-region will be taking part in the championship.
