Ghana team leave for C'wealth Games

A Ghanaian contingent of about 40 athletes and officials left Accra over the weekend for Australia to fine-tune preparations for the Commonwealth Games.

Ghana will compete in four disciplines at the Games following the National Sports Council?s decision to drop plans of competing in Badminton.

The team of boxers, athletes, table tennis players and weightlifters are hoping to make the utmost of a week-long camping exercise to put the finishing touches to their preparations Melbourne Games which begin on March 15.

The build up to the Games has been rather low key.
