BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- The quarterfinals under-20 World Youth Championship offer up two potential sparklers this weekend when European champion France meets host and undefeated Argentina and South American champion Brazil faces African finalists Ghana.
Goals look guaranteed in Cordoba when a flair-filled Ghana takes on three-time champion Brazil, which has the tournament's second best score sheet with 14 goals in favor and just one against. Argentina, with a 16-3 difference, has the best ratio.
Boasting forwards Adriano and Robert, with five nettings apiece, Brazil has strolled past Germany (2-0), Iraq (6-1), Canada (2-0) and Australia (4-0).
Ghana, meanwhile, topped its group beating Paraguay and Iran while tying France before squeezing past Ecuador 1-0 in the second round.
Either Brazil or Ghana will proceed to challenge Egypt or the Netherlands, who battle it out in Rosario.
