Ghana should boycott the Rio Olympics - Former Chief Athletics Coach

With 162 days to the start of the Olympic games in Rio,Ghanaian athletes in both track and field events are trying to make up the mark to qualify for the mega sporting event in Rio.

Ghanaian athletes are struggling to qualify for the events in their various disciplines and this recent happenings has prompted the former chief coach of athletics Mr. Albert Nukpezah calling for a boycott of the track and field events in the upcoming Olympic Games.

In an interview with sportscrusader.com, Mr.Albert said “left to me alone, Ghana should boycott the Olympic Games in Rio with regards to track and field and forecast on a vision 2020 agenda like the way Ghana Swimming Association has done.”

The former bronze medalist in 400 metres also emphasized how Ghana as a country is going to waste its resources on the Olympic Games without anything fruitful coming out of it and also lamented on how management of the Ghana Athletics Association are fumbling with the core duties which does not help the development of the sports.
