Ghana's quintet in Confederations Cup final

Ghana’s Solomon Asante, Gladson Awako, Yaw Frimpong, Daniel Nii Adjei and Richard Kissi Boateng will play in this year’s CAF Confederations Cup final after helping their team scale past Stad Malien in the Semi finals.

Black Stars winger Solomon Asante was the star-man for the Congolese Champions as he set up the match winner in their narrow 1-0 win over Stade de Malien to progress on a 3-1 aggregate score.

Asante won a well deserved penalty after he was fouled in the Malien box which was expectedly taken by team captain Tresor Mabi Mputu just under seven minutes.

Mazembe took a giant step toward reaching the final after beating the Malians 2-1 in the first-leg in Bamako two weeks ago.

Midfielder Gladson Awako came off the bench in the 64th minute to replace Daniel Nii Adjei.

However, defender Yaw Frimpong was not involved in the game for his side while Richard Kissi Boateng was suspended for the match.
