Ghana's Safo-Antwi wins gold at AIT athletics Grand Prix

Ghanaian sprinter Sean Safo-Antwi won the Men’s 60m final at the AIT International Athletics Grand Prix on Wednesday.

Safo-Antwi toppled his fellow competitors which includes Giffens Ramon from the Barbados, USA’s Cherry D’Angelo, Ghanaian-born Great Britain Athlete Aikenes-Aryeetey Harry, Senegalese Swaray Josh as well as Codrington Giovanni and Dimitrov Denis from the Netherlands and Bulgaria respectively.

The Ghanaian set a season-record after crossing the line with a time of 6.56 seconds.

The former British athlete switched allegiance to his country of birth last year and represented Ghana at the 2016 summer Olympics in Brazil, but was eliminated in the first round of the Men’s 100 metres heat event.
