Ghana's Netball contingent for All African Games

Accra, Aug. 6, GNA - An eight-member Ghana Netball contingent would leave for Tanzania to participate in the All African Games qualifying series due to come off from August 28 to September 10 this year.

Christine Ashley, General Secretary of the Ghana Netball Association who briefed GNA Sports about the trip, said a special tournament would be organised in the three Northern Regional capitals of Tamale, Bolgatanga, Wa as well as Navrongo between the 11th and 24th August to complete the National talent identification exercise.

"We've finished the exercise in the southern sector and we're now moving to the North. We participated in the just ended Africa Under-20 Youth Championships of the African Netball competition in Zanziba, where we placed third and we're hopeful our team would excel in the qualifying series. Gold is our ultimate," she added.

The General Secretary said that the Association is a lot of challenges but unfortunately it has not received much media support and therefore called for collaboration to support lesser known sports in the country.
