Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is closing in on a move to Spanish LaLiga side Getafe on transfer deadline, according to reports in the Spanish tabloids.

Wakaso has failed to find his feet at Deportivo La Coruna since joining from Greek giants Panathinaikos prior to the season, having made 12 appearances as they occupy 17th place on the league standings after Week 21.

But according to reports in the Spanish journalist, Gemma Santos, the 27-year-old is on the verge of joining Madrid-based side Getafe on Wednesday, which happens to be the deadline day for the January transfer window.

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas is reported to be a keen admirer of the Ghanaian midfielder is hoping his side can wrap up the deal Spanish window closes at 11 pm GMT on Wednesday.

Wakaso has featured for six Spanish sides such as Elche, Villarreal, Las Palmas, Alaves, Espanyol and Granada.

He was in scintillating form for Alves last Sunday as they narrowly lost 2-1 to league leaders FC Barcelona at the Estadio Camp Nou.
