Ghana facing injury crisis

Accra, June 18, GNA - Ghana are facing an injury crisis ahead of Saturday's FIFA World CupT meeting with Australia with both their first-choice centre backs doubtful for the Group D match.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac revealed that Isaac Vorsah had not trained for 'several days' while captain John Mensah, who has suffered from recurring back-related injuries all season, broke down in training at the Royal Bafokeng stadium on the eve of the match.

"We will see tomorrow, I can't tell you anything more right now," Rajevac said. "We'll see tomorrow if they are able to play or not. We will decide before the game starts."

Ghana are the only African side to have won a match so far in the tournament, having beaten Serbia 1-0 in their opener. However, GNA is yet to receive confirmation from its own correspondent.
