Ghana faces Nigeria in finals of Milo U-13 Championship

Ghana opened defense of the Milo U-13 African Championship title this afternoon with a 5-0 win over Kenya to book a place in the finals.
The Nestle Milo U-13 African Championship is currently underway in Lagos - Nigeria with teams from 4 African countries competing for one trophy.
Tamale based Zogbeli L/A primary school team which is representing Ghana put up a splendid display of Ghanaian football in the second semi final game and were the toast of the fans in the stadium from the beginning to the end of the game.
Abubakar Abdul Rauf, Haruna Abdulai, and and the youngest player in the team, Nuhu Abdulai got three 3 goals for the Tamale lads before the first half ended. In the second half, the team’s talisman and best player of the U-13 Championship in Ghana added the fourth goal with a lovely volley shot from the centre circle before Mohammed Abdul Rahman sealed it with a similar shot to make it 5 nil for the Ghanaians.
Earlier in the day, hosts Nigeria came from a goal down to defeat South Africa 4-1 to book their place in the final and will thus face Ghana tomorrow for the gold medal.
Kenya and South Africa will however have the chance to win a consolation for themselves as they battle each other for the bronze medal in the 3rd place match before the finals.
The event attracted a good number of spectators and specials guests in the persons of Kenya and South Africa ambassadors to Nigeria who did the official kick off before the commencement of the games.
The biennial Milo -13 Championships is sponsored by Nestle Ghana Limited and is focused on developing future champions for participating countries.
