Ghana deserved to win the game - Michel Dussuyer

Head coach of the home based Ivory Coast national team, Michel Dussuyer has admitted the struggles his side had to endure due to Ghana’s potent attack in the second half of the game adding the local Black Stars deserved to win.

The local Black Stars rallied from a goal down to beat the Elephants by 2 goals to 1 at the Baba Yara sports stadium last Sunday in the first leg tie of the 2016 CHAN qualifiers, thanks to Joel Fameyeh’s brace.

It was a game that Ghana had to put in a lot of energy before winning the game as the Ivorians gave a good account of themselves by getting an away goal and also played very well in the first half.

However, Ivory Coast coach Michel Dussuyer has lauded Ghana’s attacking quality in the second half adding his opponent deserved to win the game.

“Ghana’s attack created problems for us in the second half. They were stronger and they deserved to win. We had the first half but lost out.

“However, we are happy that we managed to get an important away goal and we will build on it in the second leg”, Dussuyer said after the match.

The second leg will be played fortnight time in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
