Ghana made it to the next round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia by defeating Comoros Islands b y 2 goals to nil at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi, yesterday.

Goals from influential midfielder, Mubarak Wakasu in the first half and striker Jordan Ayew in the second half, were enough to secure qualification for the Black Stars.

The Islanders looked dangerous throughout the game, playing a well-mapped out defensive strategy, but a well-taken free kick by Wakasu, awarded Ghana, on the edge of the visitors penalty box, gave Ghana the advantage before recess.

The Stars piled pressure on the Comorans, and they were rewarded when forward Jordan Ayew pounced on a ball and slotted it beyond the Comoros' goalkeeper to seal victory for the Stars.
