Ghana coach Appiah has no injury worries

Ghana coach insists he has no injury worries after naming his provisional squad for the 2014 World Cup.

The Ghanaian trainer announced his 26-man squad on Monday with Leicester City left-back Jeffry Schlupp and David Accam considered as the only surprise inclusions.

However, there are fears some players could be nursing injuries ahead of the global piece in South Africa.

Ghana suffered such a similar fate when unfit players were sent to the 2013 African Cup of Nations and its resultant effect on the team.

But the former Kotoko trainer believes he has no injury situation with his provisional squad.

“So far there are no injury situations in camp,” he told Accra-based Peace FM “The Medical team has informed me that the players are all fit.

“So as we speak I don’t think there are any issues with injuries. We now have to rally behind the team to succeed.”

Appiah has given the strongest indication that only players who are fit and impress during the trial sessions with South Korea and Holland will be on board the plane to Brazil.

The Africans will play USA, Germany and Portugal in group G.
