Ghana beats Uzbekistan 2-1 at U20 WCup

ISMAILIA, Egypt — Ghana came from a goal down to beat Uzbekistan 2-1 at the under-20 World Cup on Saturday, with striker Dominic Adiyiah scoring the winner in the 75th minute. Uzbekistan took the lead in the 47th when captain Sherzodbek Karimov met Jasur Khasanov's cross from the right and planted a low shot past goalkeeper Daniel Agyei.

Ghana, which missed chances in the first half, profited from poor defending in the 60th when David Addy lofted the ball into the penalty area and Osei drifted to the back post to clip an angled shot into the bottom corner.

Uzbek goalkeeper Sanjar Kuvvatov was at fault on the second goal, letting the ball slip through his fingers as Adiyiah shot from 15 yards (meters).
