Striker Asamoah Gyan was the only absentee from Ghana’s contingent who returned home on Sunday from the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
GHANAsoccernet.com sources say, Gyan was whisked away by a private jet provided by his club Al Ain after the Black Stars 2-0 defeat to Mali in the third-place playoff game in Malabo.
The 26-year-old has emerged the number one public enemy in Ghana after failing to convert an early penalty in the semi final loss to Zambia.
Gyan has suffered a lot of backlash on the various social networking sites by furious fans across the globe.
However, he is the top scorer of the current Black Stars set up with 27 goals.
Ghana, pre-tournament favourites, failed in their quest to win a fifth Nations Cup and extended their 30-year wait for the prestigious silverware.
