AshGold humble Kotoko

AshantiGold descended on Kumasi on Sunday to beat Asante Kotoko 2-0 in a friendly match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

?The Miners buoyed by their recent sterling performances against the Porcupine Warriors, probed for an early goal, attacking from all angles; but the Kotoko defence thwarted most of their efforts with some decent clearances from the goal area.

? AshGold stepped up their game and were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute when Kotoko’s Ohene Brenyah committed a foul in an attempt to stop a goal-scoring opportunity from the visitors.

Emmanuel Baffour stepped forward to convert home to give his side the advantage going into recess.

The homers resumed the second half on a serious note, forcing their opponents to concede two quick corner-kicks in the 48th and 49th minutes which were all wasted.

Ivorian import, Ahmed Toure, nearly fetched the equalizer for the Porcupine Warriors on 63rd minute, but his long-range shot was parried to safety by AshGold's goalie, Fatau Dadau.

Just as Kotoko were warming themselves into the game, AshGold increased the goal tally on the 75th minutes through Joseph Atobisa whose unsuspecting shot beat goalkeeper Joseph Addo.
