Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Association holds junior camp

The Ghana wheelchair Tennis Association held a one day camp at Koforidua Tennis Clubhouse.

Present for the one day camp was ITF level 2 High-Performance Coach Frank Termane from Nigeria and 3 Wheelchair Tennis coaches.

27 wheelchair junior players from the Orthopedic Training Centre Nsawam, Children from Koforidua and villages around Koforidua participated.

The juniors were introduced to basic regiment in wheelchair tennis like racket handling forehand, backhand, bouncing and mobility drills

Speaking to tennisgh.com, ITF Resource Coach, Mr Frank Tarmena said "I am very happy for the high turn up and also advice the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis and the coaches in Koforidua to pay more attention to these junior wheelchair tennis players".

He continued by saying "I have seen some great potentials in most of the kids and with dedication in training the kids, Ghana would be one of the countries with great Wheelchair tennis players".

The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Association used the 2017 National Wheelchair Tennis Juniors Camp in Koforidua to celebrate the 2017 International Day for Persons with Disability with the theme “Transformation towards a sustainable and resilient society for All”.
