The Ghana Wheelchair Softball Federation, last Sunday officially launched the federation and also selected players for the upcoming Wheelchair Softball tournament in the United States of America.
At the launch and selection, president of the federation, Albert K. Frimpong said they have the ambition to develop the game in the country.
"We have plans of making this game very popular in Ghana. It is now developing, so we would need support in terms of finance and equipment to be able to make this game popular in Ghana", he said.
The launch which was held at the Kumasi Social Club, had teams from the from the Central, Brong Ahafo, Northern and Ashanti Regions present at the launch.
In all twenty (20) players were selected for the tourney, which will be held in Kansa City from the 9th to 11th August 2018, will see only Ghana representing Africa.
Vice president of the Federation, Osei Mensah is also the Vice president for the Africa Wheelchair Softball Federation, was also present at the event.
Team Ghana is scheduled to leave for the USA on August 1, 2018.
