Ghana To Retaliate Against Spaniards

The president of the Ghana Olympic Committee, B.T Baba, says Ghana would oppose Spain?s bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.

According to B.T Baba, Ghana would carry out its threat if the Spanish embassy fails to rescind it?s decision to reject over 700 Ghanaian fans visas to the games which begins Thursday.

B.T Baba insists that the introduction of European Community standards in the award of the visas jeopardizes the Spanish and French bids for the next Olympics.

The GOC president has urged sports fans refused visas not to relent in their efforts to provide unflinching support for team Ghana in Athens.

West African neighbors Nigeria have 11,000 supporters for the games.

The Nigerians have sent an 85-man contingent to the Olympics.
