Ghana To Get Modern Boxing Gym

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) will construct a modern boxing gym and a hall of fame this year to accelerate the development of boxing in the country. The site for the construction of the gym has already been identified the sod would soon be cut for work to begin. The gym would be sited at James Town, near the old Slaughter House in Accra.

The second Vice Chairman of the GBA, Moses Foh Amoaning, who announced this at a presentation ceremony by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the GBA in Accra on Friday, said a committee would soon be inaugurated by the Minister of Youth and Sports to oversee the project. According to him, a lot of work has been done on the site and the GBA would ensure that errors and omissions which characterised past projects will be averted to speed up the construction.

Earlier on, Mr. Edward Osei Kweku Minister of Youth and Sports, made a presentation of two punching bags to the GBA to be presented to two sporting gyms in both at James Town in Accra. The two punching bags were donations from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
