Ghana To Face Argentina In Friendly

The Black Stars of Ghana are planning an international friendly match with Argentina in honour of the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, whose term ends in December this year

Kofi Annan, who was born in Ghana, is the seventh Secretary General of the UN and though the match will be in honor of him, it will also serve as part of preparations for the 2008 African Nations Cup, which will be hosted by Ghana.

A date is yet to be finalized for the Argentina encounter.

Ghana have lined up other friendly matches, which will help keep the players together as they prepare for 2008.

They will play against Japan and South Korea on 4 October and 8 October, which will be the first games in charge for the country?s new French coach Claude Le Roy.

Also on their schedule is a friendly against Australia in November.
