Ghana Police yet to probe GFA match fixing allegation

The police command is yet to confirm the receipt of an official complaint from the Ghana Football Association over match-fixing claims by a British media.

The GFA had said that it has called for police to investigate some two men who claimed to have signed deal to fix matches of the Black Stars.

The British Daily Telegraph and Channel 4's Dispatches program allege a Ghanaian club official and a Fifa agent said they could arrange the rigging of these matches.

But XYZ News checks revealed the police are yet to take charge of such a probe. But the GFA president, Kwesi Nyantekyi has hinted a court action against the British media over the claims.

Meanwhile the GFA boss has responded to questions relating to what actions will be taken against some of the football association officials mentioned in the report.

"We will seek strong sanctions if such claims are found to be true," the GFA said in a statement.
