Ghana Participates In 24th Edition Of Tour Du Faso

A 9-man contingent comprising 6 Cyclists, team official, a mechanic and a Coach
will represent the nation at the prestigious International Tour Du Faso
scheduled for Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 22nd to 31st October, 2010.


Team Ghana’s cyclists include Anim Samuel, Henry Djangba, Amin Ousman Mohammed,
Nuru Paddy, William Nartey and Philip Randolf with Williams Kyei, Shaaban
Mohammed and Prosper Agbo as team official, team Coach and Mechanic
respectively.
A meeting of ECOWAS member states would be held alongside the tour to validate
the formation of West African Cycling Union and subsequently elect its
executives. The union would therefore see to the proper organization of the
ECOWAS Cycling Tour of which Ghana hosted the maiden edition last November.
Cyclists for this tour will obtain ranking in African Cycling Calendar as well
as ranking in the International Cycling Union.

The ten (10) day Tour will cover a total distance of 1318.0 Km from Boussé to
Ouagadougou through ten stages. The Burkinabe Cycling Federation, tour
organizers, has stated that, 15 African and 4 European countries have officially
confirmed their participation in this year’s tour.

Ghana’s contingent has since left Accra by road for Ouagadougou and calls for
the nation’s support to excel in this competitive tour.
