GHANA
CYCLISTS FOR “TOUR DU TOGO”

A
10-man contingent comprising 7 cyclists and 3 officials of the Ghana Cycling
Association has honored an invitation by the Togo Cycling Federation to
participate in the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) 19th International
Cycling “TOUR DU TOGO” from 12th
to 18th April, 2010, Lome-Togo.

The
7-Day tour which is aimed at enhancing sporting fraternal relations among
African nations, through competitive cycling is scheduled to start in Lome and
ply through some major towns and cities in Togo. In all, West African countries
like Burkina Faso, Benin, Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria are expected to partake in
the prestigious TOUR DU TOGO championship.



Team
Ghana has since left for Lome and is expected back in Ghana on Monday 19th April,
2010.



The
Cycling Association is however, grateful to the National Sports Council for the
prompt support accorded the team as well as the Regional Cycling Associations who
released their cyclists for this national assignment.



The
Association’s humbly calls for support and sponsorship from corporate Ghana to
rapidly develop Cycling in Ghana.
