Ghana Boxing Authority President slams MoYS

President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Peter Zwennes President of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Peter Zwennes

The president of the Ghana Boxing Association (GBA), Mr Peter Zwennes, has accused the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) of misplaced priorities.

He said various personalities who occupied the position, come up with countless promises but never implement any of them.

Speaking in an interview with an Accra-based radio station, Starr FM, Mr Zwennes said the Lante Vanderpuye-led sports ministry is not different from his predecessors.

“Truth be told, the Sports Ministry has no priorities. We keep hearing countless promises from minister after minister, saying we will do this or that [but] for other sports but it is the same, old story at the end of the day.

"Nii Lante Vanderpuye, for instance, promised many brilliant things during his vetting by parliament but to date, he has not been able to implement a single promise and the way things are going, there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel”, he told Starr Sports.
