Ghana @60 celebrations: Hearts of Oak to play Asante Kotoko in Accra

Asante Kotoko have confirmed an invitation from the Office of the President to play perennial rivals Hearts of Oak on 01 May 1, 2017 in Accra in a friendly.

The match, it’s part of activities marking Ghana’s 60th independence anniversary, would be played on a home and away basis.

A portion of the letter signed by the Director of Operations at the Presidency, Lord Commey read: ''We have been directed by the President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufu-Addo, to organise a football match between Ghana’s two most glamorous clubs, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.

“The first leg is scheduled for May 1, 2017 at the Accra Sports Stadium; the date for the return fixture will be communicated to you in due course.''
