German Deputy Head of Mission presents coaching certificates to trainers

Accra, Aug. 17, GNA - The German Head of Missions, Mr Hans-Christian Winkler has handed DFB Coaching Certificates to two Ghanaian Under 17 Football coaches at Accra. The two licenced coaches, Allotey Abrahams and Edna Yeke were invited by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attend a two-week coaching course organised by the German Football Association (DFB) at the Sports Centre Hennef (Germany).

A statement issued from the German Embassy in Accra on Tuesday said the two coaches received the certificates after they had successfully completed an international DFB-coaching course (B-Level) from May 3rd to May 14th, 2010 in Hennef, Germany.

It said the course, which was supported by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by 30 licenced football trainers from 25 countries from across the world.

The statement said that the requirements for participation were not only physical fitness and a very good command of the English language, but also adequate experience in adult and junior soccer training. After the training, participants are examined on subjects such as "promotion of talents", "sports law" and "sports medicine", the statement added.

The participants visited coaching centre facilities of the Bundesliga Club 1. FC Koln as well as participated in an international football match between Germany and Malta in the German city of Aachen on May 13th during the course and each participant was presented with a set of sports equipment.
