Italian Serie A side Genoa have made Ghana international Afriyie Acquah their prime target for the impending winter transfer window.

Genoa have already signed former Villareal attacker Giuseppe Rossi and have snow switched their attention to the aggressive Torino enforcer as they seek to add more steel to their midfield.

Renowned Italian sports portal Calciomercato reports that Genoa are ready to open negotiations with Torino on Acquah with less than a month to the window.

Genoa have been poor in the middle for a year since the sale of Tomas Rincon to Juventus and they are optimistic that Acquah can fill the void.

Acquah arrived at Torino in the summer of 2015 and has went on to play 65 games scoring five goals and providing five assists.

He has two more years left on his contract but can leave if any good offer comes.
