Gargo grateful to RTU management, playing body and supporters

Kumasi, Aug. 24, GNA – The Head Coach of Real Tamale United (RTU), Mohammed Gargo, has expressed his gratefulness to the management, playing body and supporters for the various roles they played to get the Club back into the elite Premier League.

Gargo said they all should share in the glory and pride since it was a colective effort by all that ensured they qualified from the Middle League to advance to the premiership.

'RTU’s qualification was the fruit borne out hard work, commitment, perseverance and unity of purpose among all the stakeholders'.

The Technical head served notice about the team’s determination to make strong showing in the premiership, saying, they had prepared adequately and are ready for the task ahead.

Coach Gargo was speaking to the GNA Sports at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium soon after RTU trounced Unity FC 4-1 in their last Zone One, Division One Middle League match in Kumasi.

The Tamale-based Club popularly referred to as "Pride of the North", gained qualification to the premiership courtesy two goals from Yussif Aziz in the 10th and 52nd minutes with Kwamina Emmanuel and Aryeetey Hammond fetching the other goals in the 65th and 90th minutes.

Unity’s only goal came through Emmanuel Gyamfi in the 44th minute.

Coach Gargo hinted of plans by management to beef up the strength of the team with new signings and said all efforts were now on the preparation of a formidable side that could hold its own against any opponent.

“We will make the necessary recruitment and bring in some experienced and talented players to ensure that RTU is ready for the 2012/2013 Glo Premier League.”

Meanwhile, some die-hard supporters of RTU have appealed to the management to work hard to keep the team in the premiership.

They urged management to look for sponsorship packages, motivate the playing body and carry out intensive education to snuff all forms of hooliganism at the Tamale Stadium.

Saeed Tutumba told the GNA Sports that the team could not afford another relegation nightmare and so all hands must be on deck as a way of uniting the various people of the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions in the northern sector.
