Joetex Frimpong, the Ghanaian-born striker of two-time CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup kings, Enyimba of Aba, has revealed that he intends to maintain a regular invitation to the Black Stars with his performance in Africa's elite club competition.
Speaking on the eve of the club's Champions League clash against Zambia's Red Arrows,in Aba, on Sunday, Joetex said: "The Champions League is the key to my stay in the Black Stars since I don't play club football In Ghana where the coaches would have easily seen me in action. I have to maintain a regular shirt in the continent and score goals, afterall that is what I am paid to do in Enyimba."
Although, Joetex expressed disappointment at the exit of Ghana's duo of Ashanti Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in the competition, he promised Ghanaians that he would be at his best whenever he is called for duty by his Nigerian side.
The Ghanaian declared that he is already working hard to ensure that he debuts for the Black Stars in the next Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso, in June.
"It was painful missing the last match in Kinshasa after getting my letter of invitation. But, I would head for Ghana once my invitation for the next match gets to Nigeria. Ghana has so many good players so I just have to be at my best to be selected on match day," he said.
The former U-23 international expressed gratitude to the Ghana Football Association for the invitation against the Congo Democratic Republic, last month.
